Welcome To The Assembly Soup Kitchen

"If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday."
- Isaiah 58:10

About Us

The Assembly Soup Kitchen ( T.A.S.K ) started with a handful of volunteers cooking food from their own kitchens - doing what they could with what they had. We are an independent, all-volunteer organisation that serves the homeless and hungry predominantly in the Klang Valley. We have been relying on volunteers, local businesses, and the generosity of the community to help us continue our mission of providing hot, nutritious meals to those in need.

Our vision is to provide food security to Orang Asli, refugee, B40 and other underserved communities throughout the Klang Valley.

In 2022, by God’s grace we were able to distribute 141381 meals and over RM 3,000,000 worth of food to distribution centers in Kepong, Damansara Perdana, Puchong, Subang, Lembah Subang and KL.

We continue to partner with over 600 volunteers and numerous food organisations to provide over 3000 meals a week for the communities in need.

We currently support 9 community schools*, 1 girls home** and 1 after school program with a food program.

Ongoing activities

TASK E.A.T.S

The TASK Employment and Training Scheme is designed to empower refugee moms to be independent and confident.

Our training includes both technical and soft skills such as baking, cooking, financial literacy, and managerial and leadership skils. We deliver this through our volunteer trainers who are specialists in their respective industries.

We work to create networking opportunities to assist in the sale of their products.

TASK Angels

TASK Angels was established to empower and create a safe-space for teens and young adults with special needs and high-functioning autism (HFA).

Training includes both technical and soft skills such as simple baking, music and educational trips.

Trainers for TASK Angels are both volunteers and paid for their assistance.

The Assembly Learning Center

TALC was established to meet the need for education for the refugee community due to their lack of access to public education.

Students are provided books, uniforms, meals, transportation and education needs.

They are taught life skills, social skills, community skills and other soft skills as well.

In 2022, we met the educational needs of 74 children ranging from grades 1 to 7. We also had 4 graduates continue onto high-school.

How You Can Help

Volunteer

Volunteering with us is as simple as ABC and D! You don’t have to commit to a regular schedule and you can do so in several ways. Find out which suits you and contact us on Facebook to get involved!

Assist in packing

We have volunteers on some days at our HQ to help us with packing. We put together care packs and packed meals before distributing them to our beneficiaries.

Bake

We receive baking ingredients as donations and our volunteers bring them home to bake in their own time. Baked goods are sent to our HQ to be distributed.

Cook

A weekly occasion, and a highlight for many. Volunteers register their interest on Wednesdays, collect cooking ingredients following Friday afternoon and cook a storm on Saturdays in their own kitchen. Because of them, we get to bless our beneficiaries with home cooked meals every Saturday.

Distribute

At TASK, we go to our communities. We need volunteers to join us a few days a week delivering care packs and meals to our beneficiaries. We observe COVID-19 precautionary measures during our delivery and equip our volunteers with PPE.

Visit our Facebook and Instagram pages to see our volunteers in action!
